At Martini Livestock & Sheepdogs, you may notice two different prefixes within our dogs: Park Hills and Martini. Both are part of our homebred programme, but each has its own meaning and background.
Matt's prefix, named after Park Hills Farm where we live. Matt has been based here for over 17 years, and the prefix reflects the roots of our dogs within the farm and its working environment.
Becky's prefix, coming from her favourite drink, Martini Rosso. The name also ties in nicely with our love of red sheepdogs, making it both a personal and fitting choice for our breeding.
While the prefixes differ, they represent the same shared breeding programme. All dogs bred under Park Hills or Martini are raised here at home, following the same high standards of care, health testing, and ethical breeding practices.
Together, they reflect our joint commitment to producing quality, well-bred working sheepdogs for the future.

At Martini Livestock & Sheepdogs, our dogs are regularly cared for and maintained at Becky's professional dog grooming salon, based here at Park Hills Farm.
Grooming is an important part of our dogs' overall health and wellbeing. All of our dogs benefit from regular grooming routines, including the use of a hydrobath, which provides a deep, thorough clean while being gentle and relaxing for the dogs.
This ensures our dogs are kept in excellent condition, both in terms of coat health and hygiene, while also helping them become accustomed to handling and routine care from an early age.

At Martini Livestock & Sheepdogs, we are deeply committed to responsible, ethical breeding practices that prioritise the health, temperament, and future of every dog we produce.
Our breeding programme is built on a foundation of knowledge, continual learning, and recognised qualifications. We hold qualifications in Dog Grooming and Animal Welfare at Levels 1, 2, and 3, and are currently furthering our expertise by undertaking a Level 3 Ofqual qualification in Breeding and Animal Welfare. This ongoing education ensures we remain up to date with the latest standards, research, and best practices within the industry.
We are currently renovating our kennels to meet and exceed the highest standards, following the guidance set out in current breeding licence legislation. Our facilities are designed with our dogs' wellbeing at the forefront—providing a clean, enriching, and comfortable environment that supports both physical health and mental wellbeing.
Health testing plays a vital role in our breeding decisions. We are proud to DNA test our dogs through MyDogDNA, allowing us to make informed choices that improve genetic health and reduce the risk of inherited conditions. In addition, we are now introducing hip and elbow scoring across our younger dogs, ensuring we continue to strengthen the quality and soundness of future generations.
